The introduction of these new regulations is a result of the efforts of the European Union and its member states \u2013 including Poland \u2013 to improve road safety and reduce the number of accidents. In this article, we explain what mandatory passenger car equipment is, what components every vehicle should include, what changes in 2025, and what to expect during roadside inspections and at vehicle inspection stations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What does mandatory car equipment include?<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Mandatory car equipment<\/strong> is a set of elements that, according to Polish regulations, every vehicle must have in order to be able to drive on public roads. This applies not only <strong>mandatory car equipment<\/strong> new, but also cars already in use. In accordance with <strong>regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure<\/strong>, mandatory vehicle equipment items are crucial for <strong>your own safety<\/strong> and protection <strong>other road users<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The most important ones <strong>mandatory passenger car equipment in Poland<\/strong> include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Warning triangle<\/strong> \u2013 used in the event of a vehicle breakdown or accident to warn other drivers of the presence of a disabled vehicle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Fire extinguisher<\/strong> \u2013 intended for extinguishing operating fluids, stored in <strong>an easily accessible place<\/strong> and with a current inspection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>License plates<\/strong> \u2013 compliant with regulations, mounted in the appropriate place.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Vehicle odometer<\/strong> \u2013 enabling control of the operation of the car.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Seat belts<\/strong> \u2013 mandatory for all passengers, including <strong>each outer front seat<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.surferseo.art\/c62fff2e-2962-4741-8566-4a4fd3a1bb7e.jpeg\" alt=\"mandatory passenger car equipment - fire extinguisher\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Car equipment that is not mandatory<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Polish regulations do not require possession of e.g. <strong>reflective vest<\/strong>, first aid kits or <strong>spare wheel<\/strong>, but in many situations they can prove extremely useful. For safety and convenience, it is also recommended to equip the vehicle with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>functional spare wheel<\/strong> or repair kit,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>reflective vest<\/strong> \u2013 especially if we travel at night or outside built-up areas,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>protective gloves<\/strong> \u2013 helpful e.g. when changing a wheel,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>first aid kit<\/strong> \u2013 especially when driving in rural areas or traveling abroad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.surferseo.art\/a4cba4ff-e057-461b-971a-3676484340b0.jpeg\" alt=\"mandatory passenger car equipment in Poland - first aid kit\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>New mandatory car equipment in 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The year 2025 brings a number of changes resulting from European homologation regulations, the aim of which is <strong>increased security<\/strong> and adapting cars to new technologies. <strong>New mandatory car equipment<\/strong> It mainly applies to cars newly manufactured after 6 July 2024, but some requirements will also apply to vehicles undergoing first registration after import.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">To the new <strong>mandatory passenger car equipment<\/strong> in 2025 they belong <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/m.in\">among others<\/a>.:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Speed Assist (ISA)<\/strong> \u2013 a system informing the driver about applicable speed limits and possible exceeding them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Emergency Braking System (AEB)<\/strong> \u2013 automatic activation of the brakes in the event of a collision hazard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Lane keeping system<\/strong> \u2013 warns the driver and may interfere with <strong>steering system<\/strong> in case of unintentional change <strong>driving track<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Driver Fatigue Detection System<\/strong> \u2013 monitors driving style and informs when a break is necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Road sign recognition system<\/strong> \u2013 identifies limitations and warnings based on the image from <strong>windshield<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Reversing cameras<\/strong> and <strong>parking sensors<\/strong> \u2013 supporting safe maneuvers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Blind spot sensors<\/strong> \u2013 warning of the presence <strong>other road users<\/strong> in invisible zones.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">It all has a common goal \u2013 <strong>reducing the risk of accidents<\/strong> and improvement <strong>sufficient field of view for the driver<\/strong>, which is in line with the EU strategy <strong>Vision Zero<\/strong>, aiming to completely eliminate road traffic fatalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.surferseo.art\/a97f0d80-0144-4fc5-86fb-fab3b3471b0b.jpeg\" alt=\"blind spot sensor - a condition for vehicle approval after 2025\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Roadside inspections and vehicle inspection stations \u2013 what do they pay attention to?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Road checks<\/strong> and periodic technical inspections on <strong>vehicle inspection stations<\/strong> take into account both <strong>mandatory car equipment<\/strong>, as well as its general technical condition. Missing a required element \u2013 e.g. <strong>fire extinguisher<\/strong> or <strong>warning triangle<\/strong> \u2013 may result in a fine and, in the case of more serious violations, also in the seizure of the registration certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>No mandatory car equipment<\/strong> may also be an obstacle to obtaining a positive review result.
